Introducing Goa
Goa, also crowned as the “Rome of the East”, “Pearl of the Orient” or the “Tourist Paradise”, is India’s smallest state by area and the fourth smallest place by population which is located in South West India in the region known as the Konkan. Arabian Sea has bestowed its western coast and this coastline is stretched to almost 100 km. This is the reason why Goa has became India’s most demanding tour and travel destination and also a globally famous tourist destination. On the one hand its sun kissed pristine beaches, seven major rivers and their estuaries, lush green vegetation, hills and on the other its historical Gothic churches, marvelous forts, colonial buildings, ruined and flourishing shrines, cultural festivals along with its mouthwatering sea food or cuisines has made Goa a real travel destination which is able to give a tourist every kind of flavor of a complete and elegant tour such as adventure trip, honeymoon vacation, historical trip, wildlife tour or a leisure vacation with families and friends.

In Indian epic Mahabharata Goa was known as’Goparashtra’ or ‘Govarashtra’ that means the city of cowherds.Various ancient dynasties such as Kadambas, Silaharas, Rashtrakutas, Chalukyas, Bahamani Muslims etc have ruled Goa. But the strongest influence was that of the Portuguese and the state of Goa was a Portuguese colony for 450 years till 1962. Though this former Portuguese colony is infamous from the 60′s as the hippy capital of the east, but is still caring the mixed lifestyle of the colonial rulers in their afternoon siesta’s, bohemian living,all night, trance music,beach nightlife and party scenes and the laid back attitude. The Indian state (areawise) is majorly known for its unity in diversity. Goa,this Indian state can very well be compared with ‘Lisbon’ as it contains a Portuguese rhythm on the air.
